Terms of service

Last updated October 12, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and 18301514 Canada Limited ("tiptop", "we", "us") about using the tiptop app and its online service. By signing in with an invite code, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your data and is part of these terms.

Who can use tiptop

You must be 18 or older and able to agree to these terms. tiptop runs on Macs with Apple silicon, and for now you need an invite to use it. Invites are personal: please don't sell them or share your sign-in with anyone else. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

An early version

tiptop is new and still changing. Features may change, break or go away. Filters take a few days of calls to make and won't always look right, especially at unusual angles or in poor light. The app updates itself when a new version is ready. We may change or stop the service, and we'll try to tell you first.

Price

tiptop is free while it's invite-only. If we start charging, we'll tell you the price before you pay anything, and you won't be charged without agreeing to it.

Your pictures and clips

Your clips, recordings, photos and messages are yours. You give us permission to store, copy, process and change them, and to send them to the services in our privacy policy, only as needed to run tiptop for you, including making your filters. That permission ends when you delete them, except for copies we have to keep by law and backups that expire on their own.

Only use tiptop on your own face. Anyone else who appears on your camera while clips are being saved will be in those clips. Let them know, and turn saving off in Settings if they don't want to be recorded.

Using it fairly

Don't use tiptop to:

You're responsible for how you use the changed picture from your camera.

Our part

The app, the service and how they work belong to tiptop. As long as you follow these terms, we give you a personal, revocable right to use the app on your Macs. The filters made for you work only with tiptop.

Ending things

You can stop using tiptop at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the privacy policy). We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or if it's needed to protect other people or the service. If we stop tiptop altogether, we'll try to give you notice first.

No promises

tiptop is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will work without interruption or errors, that it will look a certain way, or that it suits a particular purpose.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, tiptop isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of tiptop. Our total liability for any claim about tiptop is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law while using tiptop, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of [state / country], and disputes will be handled in the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them locally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app. If you keep using tiptop after that, you're agreeing to the new terms.

Everything else

If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to. You can't transfer these terms to someone else. We can, if tiptop is sold or merged.
